California Drivin' Wednesday

Had an interesting experience on my commute home this evening. The off ramp from the freeway makes a sharp left hand turn, so sharp that a sign is there to advise 15 mph as the recommended speed. The off ramp is joined on the right by speedier traffic exiting from another freeway.

As I turned slowly turned left, I heard a loud horn blast to my right. A middle-aged woman scowled at me and waved her middle finger! I'm assuming that she thought I was going to veer into her lane, but since I was traveling slowly and had not even touched the middle line between our lanes, I don't know exactly why she was so furious with me. I'd been singing along to a Newsboy song as I turned, but now was quiet.

First I was angry, then I said a prayer to forgive her and for her to be freed from hostility. Three minutes later I was angry again and had to "give it to Jesus" again. Do you ever do this? Give a problem to God and then find yourself chewing over it later? Even three minutes later~LOL! Then I got home and shared it with my DH. He smiled at me and reassured me. I rode my exercise bike and elliptical trainer and felt better and better.

There are some angry people on the freeway, and other places. I'm grateful to my Lord that He gave me the prayer for this woman, one of His children. He had to handle angrier people than I...even to the death. May you all be given peace and strength from Him to deal with your own daily challenges. Bless you!

Chris, you are a saint! I don't think I would have handled it so well! I would probably still be mad. That is a terrible character flaw I have, a very hot temper. i guess that would be the Irish in me! My mom has a really nice little writing about giving things over to God. I'll have to get it from her, and pass it on!

As I said on my goofing around comment......... I had to give God those fellows that are doing my Central Heat and Air several times the past two days.. and when the temp. drops to 30 friday and saturday night and we are without a heater I will have to give them to Him again..... They will be given over to the Lord a lot in the next few days........ ahahah I am so glad He can handle things like that.........

hugs coming your way.......

Bless your heart. That devil will always try a second run at you, won't he? But, you made it thru one more fire didn't you? Hallelujah!

Sorry about your experience....it is hard to "not be mad"----or hurt at the behavior of others in situations like that.
Getting on the treadmill or elipitcal---best thing...I love "yard work" to take my mind off things! :)
