Dakota Will Have a New Buddy
We are adopting another dog!!! We adopted our current dog, Dakota, last February from the Central Valley Lab Rescue Foundation. He's a neutered nutty energetic lab. Today we are adding another dog into our family. Sierra is a spayed Lab/Border collie mix and only 5 months old~! Yep, what are we thinking? It'll be fun! And work.
So here's a picture of Dakota, and I'll post a picture of Sierra later.
God is so good. May you experience as many smiles as we will with our new puppy!

My Brain's still working!
Yes, my brain is still officially working after another day of applications. Woo hoo!
And don't you love this picture? This is my niece and nephew this last Christmas. And boy are they goofy!!! Of course, they'd probably say the same about me. But what are relatives for, if not to love in all their goofiness?
May you feel loved in all of your goofiness. Jesus loves you more than you know.

Fried Brain
After a day of computer training, my brain is officially fried! If you could see me now, you'd view smoke pouring out of my ears.
I've read sweet posts that mammograms are not a fun exam. Boy, you are so right! I try hard to treat my ladies well. I have to compress and pull for good pictures, but I explain and encourage and, secretly, pray. :-)
Well, more training tomorrow. May God renew my brain and stamina and focus! And may He do the same for all of you, my friends.

Hope!
I HOPE I can learn everything about our new digital mammography machine tomorrow! We will have a day and a half of applications (translation: "applications" equals "pounding new computer information in my brain for a long long day"). As long as I don't end up muttering to myself too much...or sitting in the corner rocking and drooling and giggling.
I sound so negative! OK, Father God, please clear my brain and make it ready and willing to learn new stuff. And may I be a blessing to someone tomorrow!
May your day be a good one and may your brain be ready for whatever tomorrow. Bless you!

Sunday Night
Sunday night. Time to finish my laundry and make sure that my really cool white scrub pants are clean and dry. I use the term "really cool" very very lightly. My husband won't even be seen in public with me when I wear them! LOL! And I cut quite a figure in my white Dansko clogs, long sleeved top and white lab coat. Yep, the fashion police are gonna get me!
OK, no picture of me in my scrubs, but a pic of one of my favorite necklaces. I wear this one about once a week. Citrine, garnet and copper. Yum.
I hope that your weekend was lovely, your Sunday was blessed, and your new week is smooth. In Jesus' strong name I pray! Amen.

I've Been Tagged
Angie over at the Knightly News tagged me to divulge six unimportant facts, quirks or habits about myself. Hmmmmmmm.
1. I love very hot hot hot nonfat decaf lattes. When it cools off...ugh!
2. I'm great at starting fires in our woodstove.
3. I cut my own bangs. And color my own hair.
4. I love to give myself pep talks out loud when I'm all alone. "Okay, Chris, you can do this! Keep going. It's all gonna work out."
5. I floss every single day.
6. I love to look at my DH when he's sleeping. He's sooooo cute( OK, now my kids are gagging!)

Earrings for Dr. S
I went to see my doctor yesterday, and she loves jewelry. So of course I always bring her a pair of earrings. These are "Valentine Earrings" because of the hearts,of course. The stones are labradorite.
It's raining and raining here in northern California. I saw two accidents on the freeway on my commute home from work tonight! So everyone drive safely, OK? And God bless you on this coming weekend!

Beatrice Kitty
We have a new kitty! Beatrice is 7 months old and we adopted her through a rescue pet program. She's a bit timid. We are gradually introducing her to our other kitty and our black Lab. She does NOT like the black Lab. He's big and boisterous. We have faith that it will all sort itself out. Patience!

My daughter the cop
My daughter starts her first shift as a police officer tonight~~~ graveyard shift. So amazing to see my kids grow up. May God guide and protect her tonight and always. May God guide and protect all my kids tonight and always!
The picture is of my daughter at her graduation from the police academy. Her terrific supportive husband is pinning on her badge and I'm just standing there beaming.

My Brain Still Works!
Yep, my brain officially worked well today! Yay! I was at my job today and had to learn how to use a computer that digitizes films...sounds fascinating, no? But my middle-aged brain caught on and performed well and I'm just thanking God! How blessed I am to have a position that lets me serve others.
Tomorrow night my 23 year old daughter will start her job as a police officer. I'm praying big prayers for God to protect her and give her wisdom.
The picture is one my DH took when I wasn't paying attention. The nutty guy!

Monday work
I'm back on the "job" today. The one that pays money. It was hectic, but I remembered what to do! Yay!
Isn't this cross beautiful? It hangs in our living room. My DH took this picture outside leaning against our house. Yes, our house is a golden yellow color. Yes, I picked it out and my sweet sweet DH agreed.
May God bless you this week and may the Holy Spirit guide you on your path.

Susan Lenart Kazmer inspired pendant
It's done! I love how it turned out and will wear it tomorrow at work. "JOY" and a reminder to rely on Jesus. The cross is at the bottom of the piece and accurately depicts how I so often leave Jesus for last, but can't have true joy without Him.
Back to work after 13 days off...do I remember how to do my job? LOL! Well, it was a great time. My DH is healing so well and feeling strong. He'll start back to work on Tuesday.
Maybe life will be "normal" for a while?!

Lazy Saturday
Working on a new pendant inspired by Susan Lenart Kazmer. It's small and will have a brass back that will be covered by the plexiglas. The brass has been sitting in my Liver of Sulfur bath container all day...takes forever to antique it! I think it's gonna be cool when I finish it, but since it's my first effort with some mistakes, it'll stay mine. I get more jewelry this way! LOL!

Happy DH! Happy Day!
Beautiful sunny day! DH got his catheter removed! He's allowed to drive now, which makes him happy. Now we just pray that his PSA stays way low from now on.
Vacation will be over after this weekend...ahhh, if I could be independently wealthy and play with jewelry at home all day long...With frequent chiropractor visits because I'd stay in a permanently hunched over position!
But I know that God knows what He's doing. Without my "day job", I'd turn into a hermit and live in my PJs. LOL! So my work provides much-needed money for our Northern California mortgage payment and keeps me socialized. Not bad!

Where's my coffee cup?
I turned 50 last year. Praise God it really was a good experience! Lots of love from friends and the BEST gift from my DH---a whole day together in the Gold Country hanging out and bead shopping. Well, I did the bead shopping alone, but the hanging out together was priceless.
But one thing I've noticed as I've gotten older, I keep losing my coffee cup! And my glasses. And the book I'd been reading. And occasionally my keys. Golly, it annoys me! But I do try to hunt for each of the lost items with good humor and lots of smiling at my foibles. And, Lord, thank you so much that I still find them all! Eventually.
Dear reader, may your day be blessed!

Thank you~
Thank you for the kind wishes and prayers for my sweet husband. He's doing so well and looking forward to the catheter being removed on Friday. Really looking forward to it! His spirit and attitude are up up up. Praise God!
I'm smiling at you all! How blessed it is to experience the caring of others.

Just finished these earrings for "Gifted", a lovely Sonoma shop. They were therapeutic---my workbench is a great escape! Much more fun than doing laundry or cleaning the bathroom...hmmm...wonder why? (Big grin!)
My sweet husband traveled with me to Sonoma-a 40 minute trip. His first outing since prostate surgery and was he glad to get out!
