Life is a Gift

Yes it is~ what a wonderful busy weekend. We are getting ready for church camping and the Scottish Games, so we had to make sure our pet babysitter was fully informed of all the pets needs and quirks. I hadn't realized how weird our pets are! Dakota the Lab loves to roll on the rug in front of the front door and make Chewbaca noises, the bigger kitty Foster loves to lap water in the shower stall, etc. We are blessed that we could adopt these four rescue pets. They bring so much love and grins into our daily lives.
We also had Mom and Dad and Nick over. Mom made fabulous organic stuffed zucchini...yum-oh~
Today we drove to Carmichael and worshipped with Michelle and Nick. Got to chat with our prior pastor and thoroughly felt moved to worship God with praise and songs!

OK, More earrings for the gallery:

"Life is a Gift" Copper and turquoise.

Lucky Heart earrings. The little hearts were a booger to saw out of silver...I think my eyes were crossed for days after this! :-)
Have a blessed Monday my friends. Have a lovely week~

"Gratitude" ~~~I'm Feelin' It!

New bracelet for the Studio 41 Gallery at 700 First Street in Benicia, CA....Gratitude!
So grateful that I can make jewelry again.

So grateful I can work again (yes, honest! staying home when your wrists ache is not that fun) (working is better).

So grateful that I have my sweet hubby, great kids, good doggies, arrogant funny cats, so much. so much!

Today is my DH's beautiful daughter's 26th birthday. I hope she has a great year and realizes that 26 is soooo young.

Bless you all my friends. Must go dry my dripping hair and get ready for another work day tomorrow~
Peace.

More work~! And a visit from Spain

"Trapped Bezel" pendant inspired by Richard Salley's technique. Amazonite, copper, brass. First time I made my own bead caps~~ They were inspired by Candie Cooper's new book "Metalworking 101 for Beaders".

Copper and brass and fine silver bezel strips. Dangles of quartz crystal.

Copper and brass and fine silver bezel strips stamped with "Smile" and "Shine". Fluorite dangles.

Well, I don't get to participate in the artist day at Studio 41...rats! But my work will be there without me. Hope it inspires and encourages. Love to sell a few pieces too .

My beautiful stepdaughter is here from Spain! She and her novio will be here for lunch today. Which means that DH and I are going to bless this house with some cleaning~~~ When you have two big black dogs and two orange marmalade cats, you have some serious animal fur at all times. And the left-over clutter from a crazy work week...it'll be fun to clear this all out and feel clean and fresh~~

Bless you all...may your weekend be joyful!

Two Pairs of Earrings for Studio 41!!!!

Amethyst nestled in stamped and dapped copper. Little silver hand crafted "soul" and "dream" charms. Peridot drops. Handcrafted sterling earwires. Soooooo happy to be creating again!!!

Stamped copper, hammered brass and stamped silver hung on handcrafted sterling earwires with turquoise dangly beads. Fun!

I'm so very happy to show these pieces!!!! It's taken about a month to slowly make them, but it is beyond wonderful to be able to sit at my workbench again and lose myself in jewelry nirvana~~~ I'm able to work about 5 minutes at a time as I must be very gentle with my wrists. But that is 5 minutes of pure happiness~~~

I'm so humbly grateful to God for healing. I'm so thrilled to be back at work! And back making jewelry. Amen~!

Great Quote and New Jewelry

A new necklace and earrings for the gallery!! I spent most of Saturday in my jammies working hard on these pieces. Very happy~ Peridot, Citrine, Amethyst, Copper, Silver~~

And on another note.......
I read a great quote in the Feb. 09 Ladies' Home Journal in an article by Margaret Renkl titled "Find Your Happy Place"

"One of the best ways to keep negativity at bay is to skip the venting, says Rick Foster, coauthor of "How We Choose To Be Happy". You may think that complaining to friends and family about your unreasonable mother-in-law or your overdue bills will help relieve the pressure you feel. In fact, says Foster, all you're doing is digging yourself a really deep trench of dispair. "If you keep on reliving the feeling, you're trapping yourself in the negativity."

I LOVE this quote. Now if I can just LIVE this quote. I tend to vent. Over and over. And I need to realize that it's not making me happy~~ So onto dealing better with frustration!

May your week be blessed. May you feel His guidance and love. Amen!

Lapis Earrings and the Spanish Wedding Necklace

Don't you LOVE lapis??? The lovely deep deep blue~~Yum. Here's a pair of copper and silver earrings I made featuring some lapis drops that I got recently. These are so fun to wear! They are heading to Studio 41and I hope someone wants to take them home.

My DH and I are heading to Spain on April 29 to see his lovely daughter. And we are invited to her boyfriend's brother's wedding that first weekend. According to DD, weddings in Spain are big affairs. The wedding will be at 6:00 PM, and after that there will be a six-course meal with lots of drinking and dancing until the wee morning hours. Since my DH and I usually poop out at 9:00 PM, we'll see how that goes! Of course it is 9 hours ahead of California time in Alcala. So we may be the coolest partyers around! Then again, neither of us drinks, and my DH doesn't dance. So maybe we won't be so cool!

Anyway, I have a lovely new top to wear with my chocolate brown long skirt. And here's my new necklace of apatite and copper and silver. I love it~! One of the funnest things about making jewelry is that you always can make something to wear for any special occasion.

May you all have a blessed week. Thank you for stopping by~
